Introduction

Australia’s advancement as a welcoming, prosperous and cohesive nation will be bolstered by a greater understanding of the multi-faceted dynamics of cohesive communities.

Through periodic, comprehensive whole-population surveys and analysis of dynamics in specific regions, this research stream unpacks the demographic, geographic, political and social dynamics of cohesive communities.

In doing so, this research stream will track the impact of social cohesion projects around the country. Understanding how these projects work – both their successes and challenges – is key to broadening their scope and in turn, accelerating cohesion across the country.
